We all want to be stronger, smarter, and more aware, but how and why do we Push the Limits? How do advances in science and technology affect our lives every day?
Get involved in discussing ideas about Nature, Connection, Survival and Knowledge with fellow community members in this four-part series.
Each session will have a recommended reading choice. Copies of the book will be available at the library starting the month before the discussion date. You need not read the book to attend or participate in the discussion.
Session 2: Pushing the Limits of Knowledge
Wednesday, May 14, 6:30pm
Reading: In the Land of Painted Caves by Jean Auel
Pick up the book starting in April, and meet on this day for our next discussion. Jean Auel’s book takes place during the last ice age, when an explosion of new ideas by Cro-Magnon was expanding the limits of human knowledge.
We will also view and discuss two videos: an author interview with Jean Auel and a video story of Sean Brock, celebrity chef and winner of the James Beard award.
