"A Winter Dweller's Celebration" by Genot "Winter Elk" Picor

Event Type: All Ages Event
Age Group(s): Adults
Date: 1/19/2018
Start Time: 6:00 PM
From Late November to early February, the early French settlers of the Great Lakes Region had to find ways to entertain themselves. The celebration of the “veillee” was a popular way in which communities broke the doldrums of winter. Storytellers and musicians traveled to the community to provide relief from the oppressive winter months. Join us as Genot Picor entertains us with interactive stories and dances, and don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes. This is a great program for all ages.
