Kim Parr, Director of The Macomb County Historical Society and the Crocker House Museum in Mount Clemens will present a program on the history of 19th century women's undergarments. Kim will demonstrate in what order a lady would dress, using original and reproduction garments from the time period. She will explain how and why undergarments changed through time. Kim will answer the questions we would all like to ask: "Arenít you hot wearing that?", "What effects did waist cinching have besides providing an hourglass figure?", "Did women wear a corset when pregnant?" and "How did women go to the bathroom wearing all that clothing?"
This program is not only interesting and informative, but fun!
