|RHGS History Lecture - A History of the Mount Clemens Rose Gardens|
Event Type: RHGS|
Start Time: 6:30 PM

Mount Clemens was once a prominent player in the rose growing industry within the United States. The Mt. Clemens Rose Garden owned by the Weiss Family produced 500,000+ rose plants per year. Speakers Lynn Anderson and Micki Weiss outline the rich history of this little remembered local industry. Their storytelling will weave together the prominence of the Weiss family and the employment of Japanese-American internment families of World War II in the gardens as a source of refuge. This is a free event and all ages are welcome.
