The passing of George Washington, the first President of the United States, was the young country’s first experience of mourning a leader. A National Proclamation was drafted to give guidance and set an “American Tradition” for the mourning process. This program discusses the history of Presidential funerals including all assassinated or “martyred” presidents through John F. Kennedy. Everyone is welcome and no reservations are necessary.
