During the early morning hours of June 6, 1944, the Allied powers staged a momentous operation aimed at gaining a foothold in German-occupied France. Landing on six Normandy beaches, troops from the United States, Great Britain, Canada and France spearheaded a joint amphibious and airborne landing that established a fragile beachhead and ultimately led to the end of Hitlerís domination of Europe. Historian and author Steve Mrozek will mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day with a detailed account of one of the pivotal events of the 20th century.
