Event Type: Adult Program Age Group(s): Adult Date: 12/12/2019 Start Time: 6:00 PM End Time: 7:30 PM Description: Within Detroit’s multi layered history lie stories both familiar and hidden. Think of Cadillac’s 1701 landing, the 1812 conquest by the British and the mobility revolution unleashed by Henry Ford. But there was also the little known reality of slavery, race riots in 1863 and 1943, an array of unlikely friendships, assorted scoundrels, and ingenious entrepreneurs. This presentation will highlight these and other antidotes included in Paul Vachon’s new book, Detroit: An Illustrated Timeline.
