A panel of veterans will read excerpts from the book World War I and America and we'll discuss the topics presented in the book: why fight, the experience of war, racism in the military, American women in the military, America on the world stage, the home front, and returning home.

This month's book:  The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien., a short story/novel based on the author's experiences during the Vietnam Conflict. Adults of all ages are invited to join White Lake's book group. Discussion is led by Oakland Community College's professor emerita Sandra Sutherland.

Books, including large print and audio versions, will be available one month prior to the meeting. Pick up your copy at the information desk.
